The Truth About NAD+ IV Therapy

NAD+ infusions are having a moment. Here's what the research actually supports, what it doesn't, and who tends to feel the biggest shift.

By Dr. Mara Ellison

NAD+ has become one of the most-searched terms in longevity medicine, and our IV suite now gets questions about it almost daily. Here's our honest take on what a NAD+ protocol can and can't do — and who tends to get the most out of it.

What NAD+ actually is

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme your cells use in basically every energy-producing pathway. As we age, NAD+ levels decline. That's not a marketing claim — it's been documented in peer-reviewed research going back more than a decade.

What clients report after a protocol

The most common feedback we hear after a four-session protocol: sustained energy without the caffeine cliff, faster recovery from workouts, and better-quality sleep. We don't promise those things — but we hear them consistently enough to take note.

Who we think about carefully

NAD+ is not for everyone. We do a full medical intake before starting a protocol, and we don't recommend it for pregnant clients, people on certain psychiatric medications, or anyone with active cardiovascular concerns without clearance from their primary care provider.

If you're curious whether a protocol makes sense for your situation, the best next step is a longevity consult with Dr. Ellison.
